Hi, my name is Mike Burrow and I hope you will join me for a senior's look at life and issues in East Texas. Maybe together we can get into some things and areas that matter to older "surfers." To begin with this is an open invitation. You can share your disappointments with the final season finale of Sopranos (what a waste of time for young and old alike) to the next real event of interest to us. From medical info to fun things to do.
How about the best places to eat and the neatest bed and breakfasts in the area? With the cost of gas these days, day trips are becoming more and more popular. Gone on any neat trips lately? Let's share some memories of places, folks and times gone by. Some of the best chuckles in life come from remembering when. I think you'll agree we all need a few more smiles these days.
ET Day-trip recommendations?

I'm interested in learning about some good day-trips in the East Texas area. Also interested in bed and breakfast recommendations.

How about Tyler State Park? There are public beaches, bike and walking trails, and of course, lots of water!

My wife and I honeymooned at http://www.1890williamshouse.c... (The 1890 Williams House) in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Just 4 hours or so away and it was fantastic. So far, it is the best B & B we have stayed at - and the only one. ;-) I would stay there again in a heartbeat! We bought one of the package deals and stayed in the William's Suite.

Thanks for the input brohoward. We like to stay in bed and breakfast places and have been talking about a trip to Hot Springs.
